Description
The Loan Servicing Specialist performs a variety of functions in support of the effective management of Ellafi loan portfolio. Responsible for performing loan support services including but not limited to assisting members and staff with questions, disbursing insurance funds and quality control of the loan processes. Maintains departmental records and files and records. Assists or refers members as necessary.
What you'll do
As a Loan Servicing Specialist, you'll perform a variety of loan servicing and operational functions, including:
- Perform quality control reviews on new consumer loans, credit cards, and second mortgages
- Process paid loans, title releases, mortgage satisfactions, and lien releases
- Administer insurance claims including GAP, credit life, credit disability, and collateral insurance proceeds
- Monitor and process adverse action notices in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Process charge-offs and maintain related documentation
- Coordinate mortgage recordings, escrow payments, and payoff requests
- Support indirect lending by reviewing documentation, funding loans, and ensuring file completeness
- Book loans within the loan origination and core processing systems
- Process ACH and wire requests related to loan transactions
- Respond to inquiries from members, dealerships, attorneys, financial institutions, and internal staff
- Research account issues and assist with payment corrections and loan servicing requests
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and applicable regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support departmental goals

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum six months of banking, credit union, lending, or financial services experience preferred
- Experience with loan servicing, loan operations, or consumer lending preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable learning and using multiple software systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
