About Us
Founded in 2025, Ellafi Kind is the charitable arm of Ellafi Federal Credit Union, created to meet the evolving needs of our communities. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Ellafi Kind focuses on supporting local nonprofits, community initiatives, and programs that address the financial challenges faced by Women+—particularly in underserved neighborhoods.
We provide financial literacy education, business mentorship, emergency aid, and community partnerships that foster resilience, independence, and long-term financial health. Our goal is to empower individuals and organizations to thrive, creating a stronger, more equitable community for all.

What makes us unique is our hands-on approach: our board of dedicated Ellafi FCU employees carefully guides each initiative to ensure it aligns with our mission of empowering women and strengthening the communities that support them. Every effort we undertake is designed to educate, support, and uplift, driving meaningful change where it matters most.
Our Impact
Ellafi Kind supports programs and initiatives that directly improve the lives of women and their communities, including:
- Young Girls: Providing financial education, resources, and opportunities to help young girls build confidence and strong financial futures.
- Housing: Helping individuals access safe, stable housing through support for down payments, furnishings, and essential home needs.
- Domestic Violence Support: Supporting women transitioning out of domestic violence situations through matched savings and financial stability programs.
Through these efforts, Ellafi Kind helps Women+ achieve financial independence, resilience, and long-term stability.

The board oversees the distribution of funds, ensures alignment with Ellafi Kind’s vision, and guides strategic initiatives that make a lasting impact.

Board Composition
The board is comprised of Ellafi Federal Credit Union employees who bring expertise in finance, nonprofit stewardship, and community engagement. Their knowledge and dedication ensure that Ellafi Kind remains closely connected to the communities it serves.
Ellafi Kind is affiliated with and supported by Ellafi Federal Credit Union and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and separate legal entity incorporated in Connecticut. It operates for charitable and educational purposes. Contributions may be tax deductible as permitted by law.
