Investing in the Future of Our Young Members
At Ellafi Kind, our charitable entity, we are committed to expanding access to education and creating meaningful opportunities within our community. We believe education strengthens confidence, independence, and long-term financial well-being.
Through our annual scholarship program, Ellafi Kind supports graduating seniors who demonstrate leadership, resilience, service, and a commitment to making a positive impact. We proudly recognize students who uplift others, especially women and girls, while ensuring that all eligible students have the opportunity to apply.
Scholarship Awards
Ellafi Kind will award three $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited two-year, four-year, or trade institution.
Applicants submit one application and will be considered for all scholarship categories.
The Ella Scholarship for $1,000
Awarded to a student committed to empowering women through leadership, advocacy, athletics, or service, while actively supporting organizations that uplift women and girls in their community.
The Ellafi kind Community Scholarship for $1,000
Awarded to a well-rounded student who has an excellent mix of strong academics, community service, and extra-curricular participation.
The Jean Crook Memorial Scholarship for $1,000
Awarded to a well-rounded student who has been affected by a challenging experience that has shaped or changed their life.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Plan to attend an accredited two-year, four-year, or trade institution
- Be or become an Ellafi Federal Credit Union member with their own account prior to applying
- Submit a completed application and all required materials
- Provide official proof of acceptance to an accredited institution if selected as a finalist
Ellafi membership is open to individuals who live, work, or worship in our eligible communities.
Application Guidelines & Submission Process
All applicants must use the official Ellafi Kind 2026 Scholarship Application to apply. The application is a fillable PDF, allowing students to type directly into the form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
To be considered, applicants must submit:
- Completed typed application (handwritten submissions will not be accepted)
- Essay of 500 words or fewer
- Sealed high school transcript from the guidance department
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or employer
- Optional resume or activity list
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application deadline was May 1, 2026.
Following the deadline, the Scholarship Committee will review all applications. Selected recipients will be notified once the evaluation process is complete.
Essay Prompt
In 500 words or fewer, describe how you have demonstrated leadership, resilience, or advocacy within your school, family, or community.
You may choose to reflect on:
- A challenge you overcame
- A time you stood up for yourself or others
- How you have supported or empowered others, including women or girls
- How your experiences have shaped your future goals
How to Submit your Application:
Once you have completed your application and essay, you may submit them through one of the following methods:
- Email: Send your completed application and essay to scholarships@ellafifcu.org.
- In-Person: Drop off your completed application at any Ellafi FCU branch location.
