As part of our July Ellafi Kind Nonprofit Giveaway, Ellafi members nominated local nonprofits making a meaningful impact across our communities. Each Friday, we're awarding a $500 grant to one deserving organization, and this week we're excited to celebrate our fourth winner.
Congratulations to Women's Advancement Initiative at the University of Hartford, nominated by Ellafi member Barbara P.!
The Women's Advancement Initiative is dedicated to empowering students, faculty, and staff through education, leadership development, research opportunities, and career connections. Built on the legacy of Hartford College for Women, the initiative continues a tradition of expanding access to education while helping individuals build the confidence, skills, and relationships needed to succeed both personally and professionally.
Through leadership training, professional development workshops, resilience coaching, and mentorship opportunities, the Women's Advancement Initiative prepares participants to become confident leaders in their communities and careers. The organization is supported by a community of individuals who believe that investing in a person's potential creates lasting impact for everyone.
Ellafi Kind's $500 grant will directly support students participating in the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program, the initiative's signature leadership program. Inspired by the supportive and empowering environment of Hartford College for Women, LEAD provides students with leadership training, career readiness resources, and a strong community of support as they navigate the transition from college to the workforce.
