In this special message, President and CEO Robyn Swanson speaks directly to our members, employees, and community partners about Ellafi’s future. From our transformation to our continued growth, she outlines her commitment to strengthening our mission and deepening our impact.
We invite you to watch her message and join us as we continue advancing financial confidence and resilience for women and those who support them.
We are proud to share an exciting milestone in Ellafi’s journey.
Ellafi Federal Credit Union has named Robyn Swanson as our new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Robyn previously served as Senior Vice President and has been part of our organization for 27 years.
After the retirement announcement of former President and CEO Keith Wiemert last fall, our Board of Directors conducted a nationwide executive search. Out of 95 applicants, Robyn emerged as the clear choice to lead Ellafi into its next chapter.
Board Chair Jim Misenti shared, “We took our time to identify the strongest leader for Ellafi’s next chapter. Robyn was the clear choice. Throughout her tenure, she has consistently helped evolve the credit union with fresh, relevant ideas while bringing thoughtful perspective to every stage of our growth.”
Robyn steps into this role at a pivotal time for our $175 million credit union. Over the past year, we completed a transformative rebrand and began construction on a new transaction center in Middletown to support our continued growth and expansion.
Robyn shared:
I am deeply honored to step into the role of President and CEO of Ellafi Federal Credit Union. Having dedicated my career to this organization, I am proud of the work we are doing to empower women and their allies to achieve lasting economic resilience and financial independence and humbled to lead the credit union that has given me the opportunity to make such a meaningful impact as we move into our next chapter.
Throughout her 27 year career in financial services, Robyn has played a central role in growing our assets from $38 million to more than $175 million. She has helped guide Ellafi through significant growth initiatives, regulatory changes, technology modernization, and multiple mergers.
In April 2025, she led our rebrand from Seasons Federal Credit Union to Ellafi Federal Credit Union, positioning us as Connecticut’s first credit union with a mission centered on advancing economic resilience and financial independence for women and their allies.
Robyn began her career here by establishing our marketing department and steadily expanded her leadership responsibilities over the years. As Senior Vice President, she oversaw marketing, information technology, accounting, transactional operations, digital services, and compliance, ensuring our operational strategy aligned with long term growth. Having helped shape nearly every major milestone in our history, she brings deep institutional knowledge and a forward looking vision to this role.
Her leadership and impact have also been recognized throughout our community. In 2025, she was honored by the Hartford Business Journal as one of its Women in Business honorees and was recently named the 2026 Strong, Smart, and Bold Woman of the Year by Girls Inc. of Meriden and Central Connecticut.
We are excited for what lies ahead under Robyn’s leadership. As we continue building Ellafi’s future, our commitment remains the same: empowering women and their allies to achieve lasting economic resilience and financial independence.
