On Wednesday, May 8, we were honored to attend the Middlesex United Way’s Power of the Purse event—an inspiring afternoon celebrating the power of women, community, and collective giving.
Hosted by Women United, Middlesex United Way’s women-led affinity group, the event took place at the Middletown Elks Lodge, bringing together local leaders, advocates, and changemakers committed to making a difference for women and families in Middlesex County. The Power of the Purse initiative helps fund programs that support financial stability, education, and health for women and girls in our community—values that align deeply with our mission.
As a credit union focused on empowering our members and supporting those who support women, this event was especially meaningful. We had the opportunity to connect with local organizations, hear powerful stories of resilience and transformation, and contribute to an important cause that uplifts the entire community.
Throughout the night, attendees participated in a lively purse auction, networked with like-minded individuals, and heard from keynote speakers who reminded us why investing in women leads to stronger families, healthier communities, and a brighter future for all.
We’re proud to support Middlesex United Way and the incredible impact they make through initiatives like Power of the Purse. Events like this energize our ongoing efforts to serve our community not just as a financial institution, but as a partner in growth, empowerment, and equity.
Thank you, Women United and Middlesex United Way, for leading this important work—and thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, and made this event such a success.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
